Manchester United have to win the Premier League this season – Quinton Fortune

MANCHESTER UNITED must win the Premier League this season, says Quinton Fortune.
Manchester United have not won the title since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club in 2013.
The Red Devils finished fifth last season under Jose Mourinho and qualified for the Champions League by virtue of winning the Europa League.

Mourinho has spent £130million on three new signings this summer and wants a fourth arrival before the start of the season.

Last summer he broke the world transfer record when landing Paul Pogba from Juventus.

Pogba endured a mixed first season back at United but former defender Fortune believes the Frenchman is ready to step up and lead the team to trophies.
“The manager has made him his captain a few times (in pre-season) and it’s good for him,” Fortune told United’s official website.

“He has got to take responsibility and I am sure he relishes that.

“He has got to help the side as the most important objective is for the team.

“I hope the team agree that the objective is to win the Premier League. We have definitely got the team to do that.”

Pogba rejoined United after four years at Juventus, where he helped the Serie A side win the league title in each season.

He was also key to their run to the 2015 Champions League final, where they lost to Barcelona.
Discussing his compatriot, Fortune added: “Pogba has been fantastic now he’s had a pre-season under his belt.

“Pogba stands out for me but it’s a team performance.

“Of course he can be one of the best players in the league this season. I am sure this is one of his own objectives and goals he has set himself.

“I’m just happy he’s settled now and has had a season back here, plus pre-season, which is very important.

“Paul looks very strong and very calm. He is not trying to prove to the whole world his ability as we’ve known that now for some time.

“This season, hopefully he’ll score loads of goals and it’s about him taking that leadership role.”
