ANTONIO CONTE is not happy at Chelsea and did not want Nemanja Matic to join Manchester United.
That is the view of former striker Chris Sutton, who spent one season at Stamford Bridge during his playing days.
Conte’s Chelsea lost the Community Shield on penalties yesterday after a 1-1 draw at Wembley.
Despite winning the league in May, Conte has let 10 players leave his squad this summer with only Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Antonio Rudiger and Willy Caballero coming in.
And Sutton thinks Chelsea need to make more signings to appease Conte.
“I don’t think they have enough strength in depth,” he said on Match of the Day. “They’ve let too many players go.
“I don’t think Conte’s happy he didn’t want Matic to go to United so there’s question marks over whether he has the power at Chelsea.”
Mark Lawrenson added: “I think he’ll be knocking on the chief executive’s door at Chelsea and saying ‘look we lost that game we definitely need some players’ – I couldn’t agree with Chris more.
“Otherwise they are gonna struggle a bit.”
