Man Utd given a boost in Leander Dendoncker transfer after agent comments on new challenge

MANCHESTER UNITED target Leander Dendoncker wants a new challenge according to his agent.
The midfielder is keen to quit Anderlecht this summer and is ready to move to Old Trafford.
United were thought to have given up on signing him this summer after getting the deal for Nemanja Matic over the line.

But Jose Mourinho may be persuaded to go in again after these latest comments.

“Anderlecht want to keep him but the kid wants a new challenge,” his agent Christophe Henrotay said.

“We’ll see if we can find an agreement with the club, but that seems difficult.”
The Sun claim United had previously made an enquiry for the 22-year-old Belgium international but were knocked back by Anderlecht.

The defensive midfielder looks to be pushing for a deal though and his manager has previously admitted he could move if an offer of €25m-€35m comes in.

Herman van Holsbeek said: “We want to cherish him, but if a club is willing to pay between €25m and €35m, we have a problem.
“Against Man United [in the Europa League] he has shown twice that he has the potential to play at a top European club.”

He added: “One thing that is certain is that we will no longer let Leander go once we reach the final days of the transfer window.

“We will do everything we can to get him to stay with us for another year.”
