Chelsea injury crisis: Blues squad takes another hit as Pedro ruled out of Burnley opener

CHELSEA will be without Spanish forward Pedro for their opening defence of their title tomorrow against Burnley at Stamford Bridge.
The forward injured an ankle in the Community Shield clash with Arsenal at Wembley and has not recovered.
But the good news for manager Antonio Conte, who will also be without the suspended Victor Moses, is that new signings Alvaro Morata Antonio Rudiger are set to make their debuts.

Morata, the new £70 million striker captured from Real Madrid, could play in a wide role.

Rudiger will slot into Chelsea’s back three, with Cesar Azpilicueta switching to wing back.

Conte said: “Pedro is not available tomorrow because he’s suffering from an injury, picked up during the Arsenal. He has a knock on his ankle.

“This is a good opportunity for Rudiger to start a game”
