CRISTIANO RONALDO made all of the headlines in Real Madrid’s Spanish Super Cup win over Barcelona last night.
Real Madrid recorded a 3-1 victory in the first leg at the Nou Camp as Ronaldo scored and then got sent off.
The Portuguese superstar only came on as a substitute on 58 minutes for Karim Benzema but scored a brilliant individual goal 10 minutes from time to fire his side in front.
Ronaldo celebrated wildly and ran to the corner taking his shirt off in the process, proudly showing off his six-pack.
The 32-year-old received a booking for his celebration and in doing so he managed to take aim at his rival Messi with the celebration.
Ronaldo lifted his No.7 shirt high into the air in front of a stunned Nou Camp crowd.
Spanish publication Sport claim Ronaldo was mimicking Messi, who had done the same thing back in April when he scored a memorable injury-time winner.
The Argentine scored his 500th Barcelona goal as they ran out 3-2 winners at the Bernabeu and Messi took off his shirt and held it aloft in front of the baying crowd.
However, last night Ronaldo’s celebration came back to haunt him.
Just two minutes after putting Los Blancos in front he was sent off for diving in the penalty box following a clash with Samuel Umtiti.
Ronaldo picked up a second yellow, shoved the referee in the back, and headed for the dressing room.
Marco Asensio wrapped things up late on with a brilliant strike to give Madrid a 3-1 advantage ahead of Wednesday’s second leg.
But Ronaldo won’t be in action and could face a ban for his reaction to the sending off.
Messi could well have the last laugh if he delivers the goods at the Bernabeu.
