CHELSEA have reportedly told Real Madrid they are prepared to include Eden Hazard in a deal that would see Gareth Bale return to the Premier League.
Chelsea are stuck in a rut with manager Antonio Conte furious at their transfer activity.
The Blues have so far brought in four new faces in the form of Antonio Rudiger, Willy Caballero, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata.
But, with Conte’s anger rising, Chelsea want more reinforcements.
Express Sport understands Gareth Bale has emerged as a target with uncertainty over his Real Madrid career continuing to linger.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon says they have told Real they are prepared to offer them long-term target Hazard as they aim to lure Bale away from the Bernabeu.
It is said they are ready to snatch him from under the noses of Premier League rivals Manchester United.
The Red Devils have spent much of the transfer window courting Bale, with Jose Mourinho desperate to add a winger to his ranks.
But Chelsea feel that, with Hazard included, they may be able to tempt Real into letting the Wales international move to Stamford Bridge.
They supposedly reckon Bale would be just the ticket to lifting dressing room morale and delivering a huge blow to Mourinho’s United in the process.
Hazard, meanwhile, has long been been on Real’s radar.
Zinedine Zidane is known to be an admirer of the Belgium international and may take the Blues up on their offer – even if it means losing Bale.
Chelsea’s path to the 28-year-old seems clear at the moment after Mourinho ruled out signing him last week.
“Clearly the club wants him and he wants the club – game over even before it started – everybody knows he is going to stay,” he said after the Red Devils’ 2-1 European Super Cup defeat.
Bale has been at Real Madrid since leaving Tottenham in 2013.
During his four years in Spain he has helped Los Blancos win the Champions League a stunning three times.
