EVERTON are closing in on a deal for Gylfi Sigurdsson – and he will undergo a medical tomorrow.
Everton and Swansea have agreed a £45m fee and the deal will be finalised this week.
Everton have made the Swansea ace their top target having already done a number of big deals.
But Ronald Koeman is keen to use the Romelu Lukaku cash to improve his attack.
And Sigurdsson will add to his driving force going forward.
Paul Clement admitted a deal wasn’t far away at the weekend after Swans’ 0-0 draw with Southampton on the opening day of the season.
“The only situation that’s important is the Sigurdsson situation,” he said.
“If that goes through then we can speak about other players. Nothing’s going to be certain until the Sigurdsson deal is certain.
“There’s a difference on opinion in the valuation of the player but I don’t think it’s (a deal) far off.”
Everton had two bids rejected for the Iceland star but finally got their man.
Sigurdsson missed the opening game of the season and didn’t travel on their pre-season tour.
The addition of Sigurdsson will take Everton’s summer spending to £131.
Everton have today sold Gareth Barry to West Brom. He joins the Baggies on a one-year deal.
