The Auditor-General’s report has indicted Gilbert Addison, an accountant of the Nursing and Midwifery Council in the Western region, for embezzling over GH¢150, 000 belonging to the State.
This was contained in the 2015 Auditor General’s report which is being scrutinized by the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament (PAC).
According to the report, Mr. Addison used part of the stolen cash to build a garage in his house.
He has since been dismissed by the Controller and Accountant General after the malfeasance was unearth by the Auditor General in his report.
According to officials of the Council, some of the monies had been recovered.
