BARCELONA expect a fresh development in their pursuit of Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho in the next 48 hours, reports claim.
Barcelona have so far struggled to prise Coutinho away from Liverpool, with the Reds rejecting three bids from the La Liga side.
However, Ernesto Valverde’s side remain keen on a deal despite agreeing a £138million fee with Borussia Dortmund for Ousmane Dembele.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon claim they expect a huge development by Sunday.
It is said Barcelona are aware of Coutinho’s willingness to go public to force through a move to the Nou Camp.
The 25-year-old is said to be considering releasing a statement or video when he will outline his eagerness to jump ship to La Liga.
Barcelona, consequently, reckon the Brazilian will then be a huge step closer to becoming their latest blockbuster arrival.
Don Balon add that Jurgen Klopp’s stance towards Coutinho is changing.
The German has been a major obstacle in Barcelona’s attempts to land the midfielder, blocking any move and admitting he was determined to keep his No10.
But Klopp, like fans on social media, is beginning to accept Liverpool may be about to lose this fight.
The Reds certainly did not miss Coutinho in midweek when they put Hoffenheim to the sword in their Champions League qualifier.
Liverpool beat the German side 4-2 at Anfield, sealing their passage to the group stages in the process.
And their stunning attacking display caught the eye.
Mohamed Salah bagged his first European goal for the Merseyside outfit while Roberto Firmino and Emre Can also stole the show.
