A Plus and Kennedy Agyepong disgracing NPP – Obiri Boahen

Criticisms by New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporter and musician, Kwame Asare popularly called A Plus and party firebrand Kennedy Agyepong appears to be haunting the party.

Deputy General Secretary, Nana Obiri Boahen on Monday said there are laid down procedures party supporters and members can lodge complaints against officials and leading members but the two have rather resorted to the media in attacking some individuals which he observes is subjecting the party to public disgrace.

NPP financier and lawmaker for Assin Central last week claimed an unnamed staffer at the Flagstaff House which is the seat of government demanded Twenty Thousand Dollars from an unnamed investor before allowing the person to see President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Speaking on Oman Fm’s Boiling Point program last Thursday, Mr. Agyepong, who is considered by many as controversial and reckless with his statement, said though the president is unaware of such happenings in his office, some of those around him are busy using their presence to extort monies from people who want to invest in the economy.

Just when the dust of the allegation was about to settle, the musician in a number of facebook posts took on the two deputy chief of staffs describing them as corrupt and arrogant.

A Plus says though the administration’s performance in seven months is commendable, the appointment of the two is below standard and called them as “stupid” and “fools.”

“NPP delegates congress……7 months of NPP government. So far so good except appointing some very corrupt official including the two very stupid chief of staffs. It is amazing how Nana was able to appoint two thieves whose level of stupidity is the same.”

But Nana Obiri Boahen said the party is open to receive complaints behind the scenes rather than always castigating each other in the media.

“Kennedy Agyepong and A Plus know where the party headquarters and come and lodge complaints. Sometimes some of these utterances by Kennedy Agyepong is disgracing the 8-month old government. Discussing such things in the secret will ensure the survival of the party”, he advised on Neat Fm

“The government is still an infant one for some of these things to be happening. We should move on as a team because we do not go into opposition. Let us deal with these issues in house”, he stressed.
