Arsenal transfer news: Manchester City to make improved £70m bid for Alexis Sanchez

MANCHESTER CITY are set to increase their offer for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez to £70million, according to reports.
Manchester City are keen to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez this summer after it emerged the Gunners are looking for a buyer.

Pep Guardiola’s side have reportedly already seen a £50m bid rejected and they have also flirted with the idea of a swap deal involving Raheem Sterling.

However, the Daily Mail claim the Etihad club are about to up the ante with a £70m offer for the former Barcelona man.

The report says the Gunners want a straight cash deal and the improved offer is close to the north London club’s valuation.
Arsenal have changed their position on selling players this week following the 4-0 humiliation at the hands of Liverpool last weekend.

The club reportedly want rid of all players who are not willing to give their all this season, starting with those nearing the end of their contracts.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is refusing to sign a new deal, has been given the green light to depart the Emirates.

And Sanchez will reportedly follow suit as the Gunners look to cash in before the Chilean leaves on a free transfer in June.
And pundit Tony Gale thinks it is wise business by Arsenal and the fans will come around to the idea of not having Sanchez on their books.

“I think they’d understand if a player is no use to them if he hasn’t got the right attitude,” he told Sky Sports.

“Obviously the financial side of it, Arsenal have got to get something for him unless they just let his contract run down and he goes on a free transfer.

“I think they’d understand and if you were a real fan, you would want 11 players on the pitch all trying their hearts out at the moment because it isn’t good and they need a performance.”
