Liverpool transfer news: Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona will be announced at 7pm

BARCELONA will announce the signing of Philippe Coutinho at 7pm today, it has been claimed.
Barcelona finally look to have secured a deal with Liverpool for the Brazilian’s transfer for a fee of £138million.

Liverpool have been desperate to keep hold of the midfielder but The Sun claim they have accepted Barca’s latest offer.

They say Barca will officially announce the transfer at 7pm despite the Spanish transfer window not shutting until tomorrow evening.

Coutinho won’t be heading to the Nou Camp himself though as he is on international duty with Brazil.

Instead, Barca are likely to confirm they have reached an agreement with Liverpool before unveiling him as their player in the coming days.
However, La Liga expert Guilem Balague has gone against The Sun’s claims and insists a deal isn’t in place.

He tweeted: “Barcelona deny there is an agreement with LFC for Coutinho. In fact they have not even made a 4th (new) offer.”

Coutinho has spent four-and-a-half seasons at Anfield in which time he made 182 appearances scoring 42 goals but finally looks set to complete his dream transfer to the Nou Camp.

The deal gives Liverpool a huge profit on a player they bought for £8.5m from Inter Milan.

And while Coutinho looks to be heading out the door, Liverpool have already brought in one new face on deadline day.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has officially completed his £40m move from Arsenal.

Oxlade-Chamberlain said: “I’m currently away with England, so I’m at St George’s Park.

“Firstly, I’m delighted to have signed for Liverpool and a big thank-you to everyone here at the FA that has made this possible, using the facilities. It has been a massive help.

“I’m not going to say too much today. I’m here with England and we’ve got two big games coming up, so I want to focus on them. But I can’t wait to get to Melwood.”
