ANDRES INIESTA has revealed he has not yet signed a new deal with Barcelona.
The Spaniard’s current contract with Barcelona runs until the end of the season and there has been concern among fans he may not renew.
Barca’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu recently confirmed a deal has been agreed in principle to extend Iniesta’s contract.
He told Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo: “We already have a principle of agreement to renew and we hope to finalise it in the coming weeks.
“We are waiting to continue talking but Iniesta is a player that we want him to retire here and to retire when he thinks he wants to retire.”
However, Iniesta denies any such agreement is in place.
Spanish newspaper AS claim Iniesta was asked: “Have you reached an initial agreement with the club to renew your contract?”.
To which the player replied simply: “No”.
The 33-year-old suggested in August that for the first time since he made his professional debut for Barca in 2002, he was carefully considering the next step in his career.
He said: “I’ve experienced a lot of sensations I’ve not known before, but I think they’re normal.
“It’s a scenario which three years ago I could never have imagined.
“Let’s say I’m thinking about my future when before I wasn’t.”
Juventus have been showing the most interest in the Spain international and could look at trying to sign him on a free transfer in the summer.
