Barcelona News: Arda Turan to join Galatasaray on Turkish deadline day

BARCELONA are set to offload Arda Turan onto Galatasaray before the Turkish transfer window closes.

Turan has endured miserable time at Barcelona since his move from Atletico Madrid in 2015.

And the midfielder is set to leave Spain and head back to his former club Galatasaray.

That is according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, who claim a two-year loan deal for the player has been agreed.

Turan, 30, joined Barca form Atletico when the Nou Camp club were under a transfer embargo.

It meant he missed six months of competitive football as he was not allowed to play for the side until the ban was lifted.

He is yet to play for Barca this season and manager Ernesto Valverde is happy for him to leave.

That is despite the fact Barca failed to sign a new midfielder in the summer, with moves for Jean Seri, Philippe Coutinho, Marco Verratti and Angel Di Maria all coming to nothing.

Turan scored 13 goals for Barca under former manager Luis Enrique last season.

Mundo Deportivo report that Turan will see out at least two years of his Barca contract on loan at Gala.

There would then be an option to extend the agreement to a third season.

Turan is currently sidelined with a muscle injury in his left leg after playing for Turkey during the international break.

However that is not expected to hold up today’s deal.
