ARSENAL and Manchester City failed to meet West Brom’s valuation for defender Jonny Evans, says manager Tony Pulis.
Evans, who was appointed West Brom’s new captain in June, was linked with a number of clubs during the summer.
The Northern Ireland international attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester City towards the end of the window, while Leicester were also said to be keen.
The Premier League clubs had bids turned down by the Baggies, who are said to have put a £30million price tag on the 29-year-old.
And Pulis said on Evans: “If Arsenal or Man City had met the valuation it could’ve been different. He has to get his head down and get on with it.
“I hope we can offer him a new contract and tie him down, we will speak next week about what Jonny is thinking and what he wants to do.”
