MANCHESTER UNITED star Marcus Rashford has claimed he can take a free-kick just like Cristiano Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo is famed for his free-kick ability and has developed an iconic style that is known throughout the football world.
Many players have since developed similar approaches such as his Real Madrid team-mate Gareth Bale and Chelsea’s David Luiz.
However, Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford has claimed he can mimic Ronaldo’s famous knuckleball set-piece identically, but chooses not to.
When asked if his goal against Celta Vigo in last season’s Europa League was inspired by the Portugal star, Rashford said: “No, it’s actually a different technique.
“I can do it like he does it but I haven’t done it yet.”
Rashford went on to claim Ronaldo was a huge influence on him growing up, along with Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney and Brazil star Ronaldo.
And he hopes he will be able to mimic them on the big stage next summer when he travels with England for World Cup in Russia.
“You try to emulate those players a lot and they’re the things that make you into the player you are,” he added.
“Ronaldo, Messi, Rooney, Neymar – everyone knows good football when you see it and that’s what I like to watch as well.
“Brazilian Ronaldo has had the biggest World Cup performances.
“I’d say and his were among the most enjoyable to watch.
“There were a lot of top players who performed in the World Cup and went to another level.”
