Manchester United’s unbeaten start to the league season came to an abrupt end when they were beaten 2-1 by the Terriers at the John Smith’s Stadium.

After the match, Mourinho attacked his players, accusing them of being complacent and he was further angered by Herrera’s post-match comments.

The midfielder said: “In the first 30 or 35 minutes, we didn’t play good. They were more passionate than us, more aggressive. We cannot accept that.

“Congratulations to them, they deserved it, but we have to analyse where we lost today.
“We lost almost every ball. That cannot happen in the Premier League.Everyone has to analyse for himself what happened in the first half. When you play against a team that normally you are better than, you have to match their aggression and passion.

“We didn’t do that. It cannot happen again. In the second half we were OK. We tried to move the ball. It was OK, but not enough for a point.”

And Mourinho responded saying: “I heard Ander Herrera saying in the flash interviews that the attitude and desire was poor. Oh my God!

“When a player says that, I think they should all come to the press conference because I cannot explain that.”
According to the Independent, Mourinho had been concerned prior to the match about his side’s concentration levels in training.
And his worries proved to be right as several United players made a number of mistakes.

The report says Mourinho’s harshest criticism was reserved for Herrera and Martial and he is then said to have bitterly opined about how this summer’s interest in Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic was to avoid displays like the one against Huddersfield.

Mourinho is now considering making major changes to his starting XI ahead of this weekend’s clash with in-form Tottenham.
