Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho reveals fitness boost for Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic

JOSE MOURINHO hopes to have Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the Christmas period.
Pogba has been missing since the middle of September while Ibrahimovic is yet to play this season.

Manchester United have suffered in Pogba’s absence, and have been criticised for negative tactics over the last month.

United drew 0-0 at Anfield, lost to Huddersfield and were beaten by Chelsea on Sunday but remain second in the Premier League.

They are on course for the last 16 of the Champions League, but tension has grown with fans voicing doubts over Romely Lukaku and Mourinho’s strategy.
But the Portuguese hopes his midfield general will be back to add some flair to United’s play.

Ibrahimovic, who damaged his ACL last season, could also return to ease the strain on Lukaku, who has now gone seven games without scoring.

Marouane Fellaini returned against Chelsea and Marcos Rojo is also on the mend as we head towards the festive period.

“We have the group of players which are the ones that we hope will recover as soon as possible,” he told MUTV.
“They have to work every day but they are in a good position now. Pogba, Ibra, Rojo, Fellaini.

“They are in good positions so I think we can go into this part of the season, the Christmas period, and after, in a strong position.”

United dropped eight points behind Manchester City on Sunday but are still ahead of Tottenham on goal difference.

They face Newcastle, Brighton and Watford in their next domestic games and need to get back in form to challenge for top spot.
