Chelsea news: Antonio Conte blow as Tiemoue Bakayoko picks up injury in Blues training

CHELSEA boss Antonio Conte has suffered another blow with Tiemoue Bakayoko injured in training this morning.
Bakayoko is currently training with Chelsea after being omitted from Didier Deschamps’ latest France squad.

The former Monaco star has recently shown signs of finally adjusting to his new surroundings after moving to Stamford Bridge back in the summer.

However, the Sun say the midfielder has now picked up an injury while training at Chelsea’s Cobham base.

It is said the France international was left in pain and limped off early into the session.

Bakayoko was undergoing his own personal fitness work at the time, with the rest of the squad training elsewhere.
It is not the first time the 23-year-old has been injured this season.

Upon joining from Monaco, Bakayoko had time out with a knee injury, with surgery appearing to limit his contribution in the early part of the season.

And he was also hit by a groin injury after the club’s 3-3 Champions League draw with Roma last month.

Bakayoko’s problem will only add to Conte’s concerns.

The Italian has been left with just one fit striker in Alvaro Morata after Michy Batshuayi was forced to pull out of the Belgium squad.

N’Golo Kante, Victor Moses, Danny Drinkwater and Morata have all fallen victim to the Blues’ injury crisis in recent weeks.
However, speaking earlier this week, pundit Ian Wright said he had been unimpressed by Bakayoko’s start to life in English football.
“Just a quick one on Bakayoko, because I have to get it out otherwise I’ll forget,” Wright said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“I’m not having him yet, I’m sorry.

“I can’t understand how he can get in the team before Willian and Pedro at the moment.

“Especially when he played further forward.

“I need to see a lot more from him, that’s all I’m saying.”
