CHELSEA star Willian does NOT have to leave the Blues to get regular football, according to Sky Sports pundit Shaun Goater.
Willian has played all 13 Premier League games for Chelsea this season but has not started a match since the shock 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace in mid-October.
The Brazilian has scored three goals in his last two outings in all competitions, including a flukey late equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Saturday.
Goater does not believe Willian meant to score with his cross-cum-shot at Anfield.
But he reckons the 29-year-old can still play a huge part for Chelsea going forward, even if he is not the first name on the team-sheet every week.
“I see him as a player who is a huge part of Chelsea,” the former Manchester City striker said.
“I don’t see why players can’t get sufficient minutes but not play every game. I think he’s one of those players that come into that.
“Get enough minutes where they feel that they are regular, because again Chelsea are another team who have a great squad.
“Willian impacts games, he’s got that pace, he asks those questions.
“Again, he’s capable of doing something like that even though it was a bit of luck.
“He’s capable of pulling that sort of cross out even though it became a goal.
“He asks questions of defenders and I don’t think he’s one of those players than need to move on.
“I just think that he’s got to know he will get a certain amount of minutes and he will still be able to play a huge part in the success at Chelsea.”
