Real Madrid news: Barcelona used old documents to sign Neymar from Santos in 2013

BARCELONA used Real Madrid documentation to sign Neymar from Santos back in 2013 , according to Guillem Balague.
Neymar swapped Santos for Barcelona four years ago after forging a reputation as one of the most promising players in world football.

However, the Brazil international nearly ended up moving to Real Madrid instead, with the Spanish club determined to pair him alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

A move to Barcelona ultimately materialised and, four years on, the player smashed the world record by signing for PSG for £200million back in the summer.

And Sky Sports man Balague has now sensationally said that Real Madrid’s medical report was actually used by Barcelona when they pulled off Neymar’s signing.
“Would Real Madrid like to have Neymar?” he told Sky Sports.

“They tried to sign him before Barcelona, and Barcelona even used the medical reports prepared by Real Madrid to sign him as part of the pre-documentation in the contract.

“The medical report was actually Real Madrid’s.

“They have the money to get him but he won’t go to Real Madrid next season.”

Speaking in June, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez admitted Neymar underwent a medical at the Bernabeu.
However, the 70-year-old claimed it was they – and not the player – who pulled the plug on the transfer.

“Neymar passed a medical with Madrid,” Perez told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.

“We tried for him to come, but we saw at one point that it was not possible and we withdrew (from the deal).”

Neymar is currently flourishing in France and has scored 14 goals from his first 15 games for his new employers.
