Zamalek Fined By FIFA For Ricardo And Agogo Late Dues

FIFA decided to fine Zamalek after the club failed to pay the late unpaid wages of former Ghanaian forward Junior Agogo and Brazilian defender Ricardo Alves Fernandes.

The Egyptian Football Association ‘EFA’ received an official letter from FIFA announcing a 30,000 CHF fine against Zamalek since the Whites did not pay their formal players their outstanding dues.

Zamalek’s board were warned before about this case after being given a deadline until the end of November to settle the payments which the club neglected. They now have three months to finish all remaining payments or they might be given a new fine in addition to deduction of six points in the league.
Agogo joined Zamalek from English side Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2008, but terminated his contract with the Whites just nine months after joining them due to unpaid dues. Ricardo also played for the White Castle between 2008 and 2009, scoring one goal in six league games.

The fine comes in a bad timing for the Cairo giants as they currently suffer from internal conflicts in the newly elected board and continue to drop points in the league as they sit in fifth place.
