The police bodyguard of the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Joseph Kofi Adda on Thursday night managed to gun down one suspected armed robber who tried robbing the Minister’s official vehicle.
According to Police in Navrongo in the Kaseena-Nankana District, the Minister was not in the vehicle at the time of the attack as he was expected to have traveled by air to be picked up on Friday morning at the Tamale airport.

On reaching between Chuchuliga and China, they bumped into a road block mounted by the three suspected robbers who demanded that the driver to comply or they will shoot.
The bodyguard who had seen them at a distance before the screeched to a halt, advised the driver to comply whilst he shifted the passenger’s seat into a position that was suitable for him to pull the trigger.
Immediately the driver pulled off and lowered his glass, the bodyguard fired killing one of them on the sport which saw the other two flee from the scene into the bush.
The body was taken to the WAR Memorial Hospital in Navrongo for preservation whilst police in the area indicate that they have intensified efforts to arrest the others.
