Black Stars forward, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom’s has been named Red Star Belgrade Player of the Year following the team’s annual gala held on Thursday.
Yiadom was awarded for his incredible goal-scoring form in the calendar year. He has notched 45 goals in all competitions for club and country.
Yiadom’s most recent goal for the club was scored in the 1-1 draw with arch-rivals Partizan on Wednesday in what was the last match in the Serbian topflight for 2017. The league will resume in February 2018.
And that has earned him huge recognition with already three premier league clubs, including Chelsea, showing great interest in acquiring his services in January.
Boakye expressed his gratitude to his teammates at the club for their contribution to his success.
”I dedicate my Player of the Year award at @crvenazvezdafk to my teammates. Without them, I couldn’t have scored an amazing 39 in 48 matches. @GuelorKanga9 @letallecdamien @mr_zombi @Mitchelldonald_ and counting, I say THANK YOU.” He posted on twitter
