Ace investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, multimedia investigative Journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni and host of News File on Joy TV/FM, Samson Lardy Anyenini will on Wednesday 10th January grace the “TPF National Media Festival 2017” in Bolgatanga.
The Press Foundation, TPF, annual event that seeks to bring the media together, to socialise, brainstorm, hold lectures and share ideas on topical issues is slated for the plush Akayet Hotel in the Upper East Regional capital at 7pm.
The Executive Director of the Press Foundation, TPF, Listowel Yesu Bukarson in a statement indicated that, the remarkable event, under the theme: “Developing Northern Ghana; The Role of the Journalist”, seeks to bring together hundreds of journalists from across the three regions of the north, MMDCEs, Head of Departments, Heads of institutions, chiefs and opinion leaders among others.
Mr. Bukarson, said the programme is taking place in Bolgatanga because, “there is the need for the media to focus on the deprived regions of the northern part of the country where underdevelopment and poverty are so endemic”.
“We can deal with these age-long problems that have bedeviled the area, if the media put the spot light on reporting on those regions. This is so because very often, we just assume without bringing to the fore, the actual situation of the place to the media limelight to attract the required attention and the subsequent support” He adduced.
Mr Bukarson added that, the Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Rockson Bukari will be the special guest of honor, with the Paramount Chief of the Talensi Traditional Area, Tong-Rana Kubilsong Nalegtan as the Chairman on the day. The Tong-Rana Kubilsong Naledtan, is also the Board Chairman of the Tema Oil Refinary, TOR, and the Upper East Regional representative on the Council of State.
The “TPF National Media Festival 2017” is supported by Akayete Hotel, Latex Foam, mynewsgh.com and Skywalker drinking water.
