Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho hits out at Sky Sports in awkward post-match interview

JOSE MOURINHO has aimed a subtle jibe at Sky Sports over the festive schedule Manchester United have had to face after his side’s 2-0 win over Everton.
Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard scored two excellent long-range efforts to earn all three points.

And Mourinho was delighted with his side’s efforts having drawn their previous three Premier League matches.




But the United boss has always been an advocate for a winter break in the Premier League.

The Portuguese coach has repeatedly bemoaned United’s scheduling over the Christmas period.

They were given the fewest rest days of any of the top clubs during the festive period.
Part of that reason is due to television companies often choosing to air their games.

The game against Everton was the seventh time their match has been televised since the start of December.

And Mourinho used his post-match interview after United’s win over Everton to aim a sly dig at Sky Sports by gesturing towards the camera when speaking about the “worst possible calendar” and putting emphasis on “you”.

“Our pride, our effort, everything was top class and on top of it we played very well,” Mourinho said.

“It wasn’t a performance of tired boys, with the worst possible calendar that you gave us.”
