ANTONIO CONTE has all but confirmed Ross Barkley’s move from Everton to Chelsea.
The midfielder is said to be having a medical today ahead of a proposed £15million switch.
There has been no official confirmation from the Blues of a transfer going through just yet, but in this afternoon’s press conference Conte was openly talking about how he plans to use him in his plans going forward.
“I think that if there is news, the club will inform you. This is the right way,” Conte said.
“For sure we’re talking about a young player, an English player. He can have good prospects for Chelsea. I think the club decided on this investment also for his contract.
“I think the club decided this investment for his contract, I think it is a good opportunity for the club to buy this player.

“He had a bad injury and has not played for seven months. We have to hope to recover him very quickly and have him for the rest of the season.”
Barkley hasn’t played a minute of football for Everton this season due to a hamstring injury.
But the England international is almost back to full fitness and Conte will be hoping to use him in the second half of the campaign.
And Conte admits he cannot afford to rush the midfielder back too quickly.
“He is very strong physically with great technique,” Conte added.
“It is important to understand when he can recover from his injury.
“He has had a long injury with surgery, he’s not played for seven months.”
Barkley came close to joining Chelsea last summer but pulled out of a move at the last minute to focus on his recovery from injury.
But despite Everton’s best efforts to get him to sign a new deal, the 24-year-old has opted for a fresh challenge in west London.
