Ross Barkley’s new Chelsea squad number has incensed fans – ‘Shocked and disgusted!’

ROSS BARKLEY has already upset some Chelsea fans with his choice of squad number following his £15million move from Everton.
Barkley confirmed his move to Stamford Bridge this afternoon, signing from Everton on a five-and-a-half year deal worth £15million.

The England international is yet to play this season due to injury and was entering the last six months on his contract, allowing Chelsea to sign him for a cut-price fee.




Barkley has been handed the iconic No 8 at his new club, previously worn by Blues legend Frank Lampard.

While many Chelsea fans have wished the 24-year-old luck in living up to his predecessor, some supporters are furious that the new signing was awarded such a prestigious number.
