Sadio Mane completes 6,000 mile round trip to join Liverpool teammates at Anfield for Everton FA Cup clash

Sadio Mane is with the Liverpool squad ahead of Friday night’s FA Cup clash against Everton, after his 6,000 mile round trip to Ghana.

There were fears that the Senegalese star would miss the Merseyside derby after he jetted off to Accra to attend the African Footballer of the Year awards on Thursday night – where he finished second to Reds teammate Mohamed Salah .
The Egyptian is nursing an injury and so won’t play against the Blues, and neither will teammate Philippe Coutinho who also has a knock – with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp expecting him back for the Manchester City match on January 14 despite growing transfer speculation.

New signing Virgil van Dijk was also pictured outside Anfield ahead of what would be his Reds debut.
The Dutch defender completed his move from Southampton on January 1, and could go straight into the team to face the Blues.

Emre Can was also present, on the day that the German midfielder reportedly agreed a deal to move to Juventus on a free transfer in the summer .
Can is tipped to start against Everton at Anfield with Jordan Henderson still out injured, as boss Jurgen Klopp insists he’ll play his strongest possible team.
