Manchester United consider Mkhitaryan-Perisic swap deal

Jose Mourinho is not fussed by the previously bald Antonio Conte being upset by his words about clowns on the touchline. Mourinho is apparently considering himself blameless over the whole business, because there was absolutely no way that he could have possibly been discussing Conte. Despite Conte and Jurgen Klopp being clowns on the touchline, that has no relationship to what Mourinho was saying. It’s a funny approach to take, and it’s been the most entertaining part of the season so far, but it’s not really credible. Does it matter? Of course it doesn’t matter.

Manchester United target Ryan Sessegnon will not be coming to Old Trafford, this month at least. The Fulham teenage defender will remain with the London club for at least the rest of the season, according to this story. United aren’t the only side interested, with Tottenham Hotspur another club lurking, but any deal might see him remain in The Championship for one more year.

With United and other clubs lurking, Spurs midfielder Dele Alli will be given a new contract that doubles his salary. United might have to turn their attention elsewhere, but having him in a side with Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial would be magic.

There’s competition for another target, as Arsenal are preparing for the exit of Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City by bringing in Malcolm from Bordeaux. United had been linked with Malcolm as a replacement for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but it appears they might have been caught on the hop.

Inter Milan remain interested in Mkhitaryan, and if they make their interest more concrete then United could use the situation to finagle a deal for Inter winger Ivan Perisic. Right now, it appears that the likeliest outcome for the Armenian player is that he returns to Borussia Dortmund. Bye.
