President of the US, Donald Trump, has come under global criticism, even being branded “racist” following reports that he had described African nations, Haiti and El Salvador as “shitholes”, wondering why so many of their citizens are allowed into America.
President of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo, as well as Former President John Mahama have both registered their displeasure about Trump’s statement via social media.
To mark his 40th birthday, celebrated broadcaster KOD has burned shirts he bought from the Donald Trump signature collection, in protest of the US president’s remarks.
“I chose my 40th birthday to burn this signature collection shirt from Donald J Trump! I bought this shirt four years ago because as a child, I thought Trump was someone I could look up to…That shithole doesn’t deserve a place in my space…I’m burning this on behalf of all Africans and the oppressed across the world,” he wrote on Facebook.
KOD hails from Winneba in the Central Region of Ghana. 40, KOD began his radio career at Accra-based Radio Gold and, mastering the rudiments from cousin Kwesi Kyei Dakwah (KKD), he has gone on to build an illustrious career in radio, TV, hosting events, artiste management, and fashion. In 2015, he was crowned Most Stylist Radio Personality at the Glitz Africa Style Awards.
