Manchester United set to make Jose Mourinho announcement amid Alexis Sanchez struggle

MANCHESTER UNITED are expected to announce Jose Mourinho has signed a new contract shortly.
Jose Mourinho has been in charge at Manchester United for 18 months, during which time the club has won’t he EFL Cup and Europa League.

Mourinho still lives at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester and there is interest from PSG in his signature.

But United have moved to block any deal between the Portuguese and the Ligue 1 side.

Express Sport understands Mourinho has been offered a new contract until 2021.

The terms extend the three-year deal he signed at Old Trafford when appointed manager in 2016.
And the MEN claim United are waiting to announce Mourinho’s fresh commitment.

The ex-Real Madrid and Chelsea manager is yet to actually put pen to paper on the deal.

But the MEN claim United’s board are confident the deal will be signed off.

Jose Mourinho was asked if he was comfortable living out of a hotel room earlier this month.

He said: “If the fans want me to be comfortable, that’s the way I feel very comfortable.

“Because I am very lazy and because I like to arrive in the hotel.

“I don’t want anyone to be worried because I live in a two square metres room, I am living in an apartment inside of a hotel, where I have all the comfort, the support, where I have everything I want like I am living in a house.

“So if they are worried about me being comfortable, happy and supported, I really am. If they want me in some house that I don’t like, in some place I don’t like, lonely from my assistants, if they want that, I would be a sad guy and a sad guy doesn’t work well.”

Alexis Sanchez latest

Meanwhile, United are also closing in on a deal for Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez.

The club have offered Sanchez £350,000 a week to leave the Emirates.

Arsenal have been offered Henrikh Mkhitaryan as part of a swap deal for the Chilean.

And it is United flop Mkhitaryan who is currently holding up the switch as he mulls over a move to London.
