ALEXIS SANCHEZ is on the brink of joining Manchester United – and Adidas’ official store is already printing his shirts!
Alexis Sanchez was at Arsenal training today for perhaps the last time before he moves to Manchester United.
Arsene Wenger says the deal could be done within the next 24 hours.
United will send Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Arsenal in return for Sanchez, with some reports claiming the Gunners also want £10m from the deal.
And it appears as though Adidas are in the know over the transfer.
A shopper on London’s Oxford Street noticed the kit manufacturer’s flagship store is already printing ‘Alexis 7’ shirts.
Alexis Sanchez is all set to take on the famous No 7 shirt last worn at Old Trafford by flop Memphis Depay.
Red Devils fans will certainly hope Sanchez emulates some of the great United No 7s such as George Best, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, rather than follow in Depay’s footsteps.
United need to sign Sanchez before 12 noon on Friday if they are to field him in their 3pm Saturday clash at Burnley.
Wenger said of the deal today: “As you said – you’re well informed – it’s now in the next 24 to 48 hours that it will happen or not.
“I’ve worked on transfers for 30 years, so it is likely to happen.
“But at any moment, at any minute, things can break down. That’s how the transfer market is.
“As long as it’s not over the line, you have to accept that it can as well not happen. These kind of things are never guaranteed.
“If it doesn’t happen, he will play on Saturday.”
