Man Utd eye three more deals after Alexis Sanchez signing as Mourinho switches priority

MANCHESTER UNITED are eyeing three more signings after the sensational capture of Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile ace finally completed his move to Old Trafford yesterday with Henrikh Mkhitaryan going the other way.

Manchester United were after a winger, forward and a marquee signing, but the Independentsay Sanchez ticks all three boxes meaning they will now focus on midfield.

It is claimed they are now looking at deals for three players with Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk the top target along with Julian Weigl and Valencia youngster Carlos Soler.

United have been linked with moves for Antoine Griezmann, Gareth Bale, Christian Pulisic and Paulo Dybala but Sanchez’s arrival has put them on the back burner for now.

But with Maurouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick set to leave in the summer Jose Mourinho wants to add midfielders to his squad.

He signed Nemanja Matic in the summer and Paul Pogba the year before while Ander Herrera impressed last year, but is still short of high quality options.

They face a battle with Manchester City for the signing of Fred, with Pep Guardiola’s side set to make a £50m move for the 24-year-old.

Although after beating City to the signing of Sanchez they will feel they can do it again.

City were also linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Weigl but appear to have cooled their interest.

United are looking to cut into City’s Premier League 12-point lead but have their eyes on the FA Cup and the Champions League before a real go at the title next term.
