Prince Tagoe, Nana Aba Anamoah using my name for fame – Asamoah Gyan

Celebrated Ghanaian footballer and skipper of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan has indicated strenuously that former Ghana International Prince Tagoe and ace broadcaster ,Nana Aba Anamoah are using his name for fame.

It would be recalled that the GHONE TV hostess,Nana Aba Anamoah had proposed that Dede Ayew be made the skipper of the Black Stars to boost its chances of winning trophies.

On the other hand,Prince Tagoe who is popularly known as “Prince of goals” had also revealed that Asamoah Gyan becoming captain of the Blackstars after Stephen Appiah’s retirement was a mistake considering the fact that there were other senior players like Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari whowere well positioned to take the place of Appiah.

Speaking in response to Nana Aba Anamoah and Prince Tagoe’s claims with Papa Maestro on Accra-based Hot 93.9FM,the all-time Black Star’s goal king,Asamoah Gyan delineated astonishingly that the former Ghana international and the ace broadcaster are only using his name for fame.



“ Hahahaha..hhahahah..all I can say is that everybody get his or her opinion;even if a president is elected someone will say he doesn’t deserve to be the President…others will also say he deserved it… Prince Tagoe is also saying his mind but I was expecting him to say it when he was in camp with us”,Gyan told Papa Maestro

Asamoah Continued,”When people want to become famous ,they often try to use my name…the captain was given to me 6years ago so why now? These people are only tarnishing my image because they know they can get the fame they craving for …I worked really hard to earn the fame am enjoying…Prince Tagoe and Nana Aba Anamoah are only using my name for fame”.

The former Sunderland hitman who currently plays as a striker for Kayserispor in the Turkish Super league advised Prince Tagoe and Nana Aba Anamoah to channel their grievances about his captaincy role to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) ,

Popularly known as “Baby Jet’,Gyan is the all-time leading goalscorer of the Ghana national team, with 51 goals.

With 6 goals, he is the top African goalscorer in the history of the World Cup after appearing in the 2006,2010 and 2014 editions of the World’s most glamorous ‘footballing’ stage.
