Manchester United think lies are being told about Alexis Sanchez’s move from Arsenal

MANCHESTER UNITED think lies are being told about how much Alexis Sanchez will earn at the club, according to reports.

Manchester United poached Sanchez from Arsenal two days ago with the Red Devils making the 29-year-old their newest No7.

The deal has sent shockwaves echoing around the footballing world with various reports speculating on how much Sanchez will earn.

The common consensus seems to be that the Chile international will become one of the best-paid players on the planet with a salary worth £500,000 a week.

But the Independent say that Manchester United feel those reports are inaccurate, for two big reasons.

United are supposedly only willing to pay him wages of £300,000.

That would make him their joint-highest earner, along with midfielder Paul Pogba.

It is said the Red Devils made such a decision to keep the dressing room together, and to ensure that harmony remains.

The Independent add United also insist the signing-on fee was not £20m.

However, the actual amount is not specified.

Meanwhile, former United No2 Steve McClaren has warned the club that, if they ARE paying Sanchez wages of £500,000 a week, it could backfire.

“That is the danger in the modern game and the problem I find in clubs,” he said.

“Wage parity is very important to players. Yes, they find out – at all levels – and if someone is paid a lot higher than others that can cause a problem.

“If he (Sanchez) is on the wages that is being bandied about then other players will know that when their contracts come up or they are in demand from other clubs.

“The others will be looking at renegotiation next season or the season after and getting to that (wage) level if they think they are at that level.”

Sanchez is expected to make his United debut when they face Yeovil Town in the FA Cup on Friday night.
