Arsenal transfer news: Aubameyang move could be ruined by one man at Arsenal

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG’s move to Arsenal could be ruined by one man at the club.
The Gunners want to sign the Gabon striker, 28, following the departure of Alexis Sanchez.

But German football expert Lee Price believes the deal could fall through due to the personal wishes of Olivier Giroud.

Price has correctly revealed a host of big transfer deals before they have happened – including Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Arsenal and Naby Keita joining Liverpool.

His revelation will likely frustrate Arsenal fans who are keen on their side splashing the cash to get a top-four tilt back on track.

Price exclusively told Express Sport: “Arsenal risk missing out on Aubameyang and it’s beacuse Giroud doesn’t want to move to Germany.

“From what I am hearing from my sources in Germany, Dortmund are keen on doing a deal despite what they are saying publicly – although it has to be the right package.

“With that in mind, they want Giroud plus a big cash payment to get it done.
“It’s something Arsenal are unlikely to do and they hope some middle ground could be found.



“But the problem is Giroud. He isn’t sure about the move even if it’s on loan, meaning it is now all up in the air.

“Arsenal will now have to try and twist Dortmund’s arm to do a straight cash deal, something they are reluctant to do – especially with only a few days left of the window.

“And to further complicate matters, Aubameyang is on Real Madrid’s shortlist too but they will wait until the summer to chase.”
Express Sport understands Arsenal are ready for a game of brinkmanship with Borussia Dortmund over Aubameyang’s transfer after the German club claimed they were cooling on the idea of a move.

Aubameyang’s is back in the squad for their game against Freiburg tomorrow with the club unhappy that Arsenal’s second bid of £43.6million is still about £10m shy of their own valuation of him.
