Manchester United target Justin Kluivert makes big transfer claim

JUSTIN KLUIVERT insists a move to Manchester United wouldn’t make sense – for now.

The 18-year-old has been impressing for Ajax this term, featuring in 14 of their games and scoring five goals in the Eredivisie.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has been linked with a move for the young Dutchman but Kluivert says it’s not on the cards.

“I have heard the rumours but I haven’t spoken to Mourinho,” Kluivert told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.

“A move to Manchester United wouldn’t make sense, for now.”

Son of former Dutch striker Patrick, Kluivert is a left winger and made his debut for the first team last season.

He was involved in the run to the Europa League final last season – when Ajax lost to Manchester United in the final.

But Mourinho has claimed he is not looking to add to his attack this summer and will instead concentrate elsewhere.

United signed Alexis Sanchez last month after being linked with Antoine Griezmann and Gareth Bale.

“It’s bad for you [the media] because you like to have things to write and speculate, especially in the summer, but I don’t want attacking players so don’t speak about attacking players that are coming here because nobody is coming here,” he said.

“We have Mata, Lukaku, Rashford, Martial, Lingard and Alexis, so I don’t want attacking players. So if you want to speculate in the summer you have to go to other areas because I’m really happy with the attacking players.

“Alexis, Lukaku, Martial, Rashford can all play No9, Rashford can play on the left and the right, Alexis is exactly the same. And all of them, apart from Lukaku, can play from behind as the second striker.

“We do not need to improve the quality of the players. But we have to improve the dynamic of the team and our efficiency.”
