NDC MPs are plotting Ken Ofori-Atta’s downfall – Ken Agyapong

The outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central in the Central Region Kennedy Agyapong has revealed that recent attacks on the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta are a deliberate move by the Minority MPs to tarnish his image in order to spite President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He explained that the Minority MPs see the Finance Minister as a big threat because he is exposing their fishy deals at the Finance Ministry and have therefore had series of meetings to use the media to bring him down.

Akompreko as he is affectionately called dropped the hint while speaking on Oman FM’s political analysis programme Boiling Point on Thursday night.

While condemning the said MPs for attacking the Finance Minister since their hands are not clean, Mr Agyapong also took swipe at his own government for failing to deal with corrupt former appointees of the Mahama administration.

He argued that the delay in prosecuting the corrupt former appointees is what has emboldened them to launch a scathing attack on the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

“These people who have been very wicked to the people of this country yet have the nerves to attack Ken Ofori-Atta,” he said.

Ken Agyapong mentioned that he has a dossier on properties in UK, South Africa and other places which were acquired by some Minority MPs including former Deputy Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson using illegal means.

He said he is saddened that these same MPs have the guts and even gone ahead to plot the downfall of the Finance Minister.

He explained that one of the NDC MPs has a girlfriend in South Africa, stressing that “This lady is the one who has been giving the Minority information about Ken Ofori-Atta.”

“I don’t even know whether the information is credible,” he stated.

The Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has come under the barrage of attacks from the Minority over the energy bond saga.

The Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress Brogya Gyamfi petitioned the Commissioner on Human Rights and Administrative Justice(CHRAJ) to investigate the Finance Minister for engaging in a conflict of interest.

However, CHRAJ in its report exonerated the Finance Minister.

But the NDC Minority have not stopped their onslaught on the Finance Minister.
