Manchester United have different plans for Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Andreas Pereira

MANCHESTER UNITED reportedly have different plans for loan stars Tim Fosu-Mensah and Andreas Pereira

Manchester United sent Fosu-Mensah and Pereira out on loan at Crystal Palace and Valencia respectively.

The duo have impressed during their time away from Old Trafford, with Fosu-Mensah helping boost Palace’s hopes of staying in the Premier League.

Pereira, meanwhile, has blossomed over in La Liga, helping Valencia challenge the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid for the league title.

But the Manchester Evening News suggest both players are facing contrasting futures at Manchester United.

Fosu-Mensah is supposedly set to get a chance to prove his worth next season.

The 20-year-old has made 22 appearances for Palace so far this campaign.

And he has shown signs of maturity under the stewardship of Roy Hodgson, playing at both right-back and centre-back.

Both areas happen to be problematic for United, particularly the latter.

Fosu-Mensah could be given the nod next season with Chris Smalling and Phil Jones in line for the chop.

But Pereira, the MEN say, may be shown the door.

The 22-year-old impressed on the clubs’ pre-season tour of America back in the summer.

But he defied Mourinho by choosing to join Valencia.

And, after ignoring the advice of his manager, the Spaniard may leave for a new challenge elsewhere.

Speaking earlier this month, however, the youngster insisted he was confident of making the cut.

“It was difficult because he [Mourinho] told me I had to stay and I wanted to play and get more minutes,” Pereira told the Daily Mail.

“I never want to leave United but I want to play as well. In the end it will make me a better player and I will be that better player at United.

“I wanted to go somewhere and play a regular season.

“Last year I did it and I felt stronger for it. The United staff recognised it [in pre-season].”
