Chelsea news: Cesc Fabregas dismisses crisis talk as Antonio Conte fights to save job

CESC FABREGAS insists Chelsea are not in crisis despite being out of the Premier League title race.
The Blues have struggled of late, suffering shock defeats against Watford and Bournemouth.

Antonio Conte is now fighting to save his job after a turbulent second season in England.

Fabregas has admitted Chelsea have blown their chance of retaining their Premier League crown.

But the Spaniard dismissed claims that the club have endured a bad season, claiming they can still win two competitions.

“There’s no middle point in football anymore either you are the best or you are bad,” he told Goal.com.
“We just really have to focus in our job which is to try to be good every three days, compete well and then let the results talk.

“We got to the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.

“When you look at it you can’t say it is an average or bad season, it is a good season.

“But, of course, when you call it a good or bad season, it is in May when there are trophies to be won and see what you can achieve.
“We come from two difficult defeats against Watford and Bournemouth where we did struggle and we were not ourselves.

“The most important thing is the team plays well and grows again.”

Conte has been linked with a return to Italy but insists he is committed to the west London outfit.

However, failure to beat Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League could force owner Roman Abramovich to relieve the Italian of his duties.
