MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho wants to sell Marcos Rojo to PSG to make room for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, according to reports.
Manchester United signed Rojo from Sporting Lisbon back in the summer of 2014.
The Argentina international has been a regular ever since, blossoming under both Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho’s stewardship.
However, Rojo has recently fallen out of favour with Mourinho instead choosing to place his faith in flailing duo Phil Jones and Chris Smalling.
And Spanish publication Don Balon say Manchester United plan to offload the 27-year-old to accommodate Real Madrid defender Varane.
The France international is reportedly top of Mourinho’s summer wishlist.
Smalling and Jones could be shown the door with United set to embark on another spending spree to help close the gap on Manchester City next term.
Mourinho signed Varane during his time as Real manager, beating United to his signature in the summer of 2012.
The 24-year-old as since transformed himself into one of the best defenders on the planet.
And Don Balon say Mourinho is ready to offload Rojo and demand the board sign Varane.
Negotiations with the La Liga giants, however, may not be plainsailing.
Relations with Real have been strained ever since United blocked David De Gea moving to the Bernabeu three years ago.
United have tried to land Gareth Bale in the time since.
And Alvaro Morata was another target, though Real preferred to sell him to Chelsea instead.
