ANTHONY MARTIAL will look to seek a move away from Manchester United if he is not happy with being a bit-part player.
That is the opinion of ESPN FC pundit and former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol.
Three of Martial’s last four appearances in all competitions have been as a substitute.
The Frenchman scored in three successive Premier League games in January but Alexis Sanchez’s arrival from Arsenal has since pushed him out of the starting XI.
He has been linked with an exit from Manchester United of late, with Tottenham one of the clubs rumoured to be interested in him.
Nicol says Martial’s unlikely to be a regular starter anytime soon so will have to leave Old Trafford if that is what he wants.
“It depends if he wants to play every week,” Nicol said.
“If he’s quite happy playing every now and again and coming off the bench, then he’s in the perfect spot.”
Nicol’s colleague Craig Burley suggests Martial may miss out on a place in the France World Cup squad this summer if his game-time does not increase.
“He’s got France to think about in the summer hasn’t he,” the former Chelsea midfielder said.
“Well it’s too late for that in terms of a move.”
Martial has scored 11 goals in 37 appearances for United this season.
