Neymar: Injured PSG star could play against Real Madrid – Unai Emery makes SHOCK claim

NEYMAR may still be fit to play against Real Madrid next week.

That is shock claim made by PSG boss Unai Emery.

The Brazilian was stretchered off the field in tears against Marseille on Sunday evening.

While PSG fans hoped Neymar had only suffered minor damage to his ankle, scans on Monday revealed the player had fractured his metatarsal.

However, Emery insists the forward will not undergo surgery as expected.

And the Spaniard even claimed Neymar may be in line to play at the Parc Des Princes next week.

“The information that Neymar will be operated is false,” Emery said ahead of Wednesday’s French Cup quarter-final against Marseille.



”I spoke with the doctor on Tuesday morning and he explained to me what the exams revealed.

“I also talked about it with (PSG sports director) Antero Henrique, the president and the player.

“Neymar is the first who wants to play every game, for Real Madrid, he is very focused.

“I think there is a small chance for him to be ready for the match.”

Neymar has scored 29 goals in 30 games for the Ligue 1 side since his world-record move in the summer.

And PSG need the attacker fit as they look to overturn a 3-1 deficit when they face Madrid next week.
