REAL MADRID were handed a Champions League boost this week when Neymar was ruled out of their clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
But Bernabeu ace Nacho Fernandez has surprisingly claimed he WANTS the Brazilian to be fit for the last-16 encounter.
Neymar failed to perform when PSG travelled to Madrid for the first leg of the Champions League tie two weeks ago.
And he’d have been hoping to put that right as Unai Emery’s side look to overturn a 3-1 deficit at the Parc des Princes next Tuesday.
Neymar suffered an ankle sprain and fissure of his fifth metatarsal during PSG’s Ligue 1 showdown with Marseille on Sunday night though.
And that means he won’t figure when Real travel to Paris in six days’ time.
However, Fernandez insists he’d be up for pitting himself against the former Barcelona star.
“We’ll not know anything until the day of the match,” he said after Real’s 1-0 defeat to Espanyol last night.
“I don’t know what wrong with him, we always want every player to be fit and not have problems.
“Until the day of the match, we’ll not know if he’ll play or not.”
Real’s defeat to Espanyol means they remained third in La Liga, 14 points adrift of leaders Barcelona.
They’ll be hoping to gain some momentum before their visit to PSG when they take on Getafe this Saturday.
