I will never imitate Ebony Reigns - Dhat Gyal

Upcoming 17-year-old musician Ernestina Afari known in showbiz as Dhat Gyal has debunked recent rumors of she replacing the late Ebony Reigns

The young talented girl after releasing several mash-ups has inked for herself a 5-year working contract with a Norway based Ghanaian Production house, 5K Productions.

Though she has her own challenges, music critics have tipped her to be the next big star in the music industry after the demise of Ebony Reigns.

Speaking in an interview with SVTV, the young singer posited that she loves the late dancehall artiste’s music and personality but was quick to add that she isn’t trying to imitate her.

“We having the same voice and style of music and I am not trying to depict the late Ebony’s style. We have the same personality, and voice. We are two different people even if we were to be born from one womb of a stomach”

The young singer’s talent, creativity and versatility are seen on her mash up’s made on major hit songs from top Ghanaian artiste such as Samini’s ‘My Own’, Mr Eazi’s ‘Leg Over’, Stonebwoys’s ‘My Name’, Kojo Antwi’s ‘Medofo Pa’.

Though she has no album to her credits, she currently has a single titled ‘MayWeather’.

Her latest which got the internet talking was her tribute to the late ‘Maame Hwe’ hitmaker – ‘RIP Ebony’.
