REAL MADRID need to make big changes to their squad this summer but selling Toni Kroos must not be one of them.
Those are the thoughts of legendary Liverpool defender turned pundit Steve Nicol.
Real Madrid have struggled under Zinedine Zidane this season in La Liga.
They are 15 points behind leaders Barcelona having surprisingly lost 1-0 to Espanyol on Tuesday.
Midfielder Kroos has been linked with an exit from the Bernabeu with Manchester United the club reportedly keen on him.
But Nicol says Real Madrid should continue to build their team around the German by making changes elsewhere on the pitch.
“He would enhance anybody,” Nicol said on Kroos on ESPN FC.
“I just don’t see it happening (to Man United).
“I think Real Madrid right now do need to make changes but I don’t see it being in the middle of the park with Toni Kroos.
“I think Toni Kroos absolutely is cemented at Real Madrid right now.
“So this 100 per cent for me is a stay.”
