Komenda chief fumes over ‘white elephant’ sugar factory

Omanhen of Komenda Traditional Area, Nana Kojo Kru II, has registered his displeasure about the seeming collapse of the Komenda Sugar Factory in the Central region.

According to him, the machines are rotting and the building is deteriorating due to government inaction and unwillingness to start work.

The defunct sugar factory revived by the erstwhile Mahama government was supposed to bring life back to a dormant town with many unemployed youth and efforts by the Ministry of Trade and Industry to reactivate the multi-million dollar factory is yet to bear fruits.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Friday, Nana Kojo Kru II said they were sad at the turn of events.
