Man Utd send transfer shockwave through Spain after Antoine Griezmann decision

Griezmann was one of last year’s hottest properties and was available for £88m (€100m) due to a release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract.

He opted to stick with the Spanish giants though after FIFA upheld their transfer ban which prevented them from registering new players.

Jose Mourinho could have made a fresh move for Griezmann at the end of this season as he looks to bolster his Manchester United attack.

However, the latest reports indicate United have ‘parked’ their interest in the 26-year-old and want to secure a deal for Bale instead.




According to Don Balon, United have made Bale the primary focus of their transfer plans.

And that is bad news for Atletico, who are desperate to avoid losing Griezman to a La Liga rival.

Barcelona are now in the driving seat to land Griezmann in the summer.
And Don Balon suggest they could sacrifice Ousmane Dembele to get the forward on-board.
In that situation, Dembele’s inclusion in a part-exchange deal would reduce the cost of signing Griezmann.

Barcelona’s El Clasico rivals Real also have their eye on Griezmann as the campaign draws to a close.

But the fact Atletico are already keen on Dembele could prove the deciding factor in the transfer saga.
