Man Utd star Alexis Sanchez makes brutally honest claim seven weeks after Arsenal exit

MANCHESTER UNITED star Alexis Sanchez has admitted he needs to improve, seven weeks on from his move from Arsenal.
Manchester United signed Sanchez from Arsenal during the January transfer window with hopes he could be the final piece of their jigsaw.

However, the 29-year-old has managed to find the net just once and was dropped for the Red Devils’ 2-0 FA Cup win over Brighton on Saturday.

And Sanchez has now delivered a brutal assessment of his Old Trafford career so far, explaining why he’s toiled.

“As I am self-demanding, I expected something better,” the Manchester United No 7 said.

“After my arrival at United, it was hard to change everything very quickly.

“I even hesitated to come here [to Sweden, with the national team].
“I had asked permission to miss these games, but then I thought better and spoke with Claudio [Bravo] and told him that we should all be united.”

Sanchez’s words come after it was reported he was unhappy at the club.

The Chile star supposedly eats alone in the club’s canteen and has struggled to bond with the rest of the squad.

However, United hero Andy Cole thinks Sanchez’s struggles are down to him trying too hard.

“Alexis Sanchez is a superb player,” Cole told Goal.
“I think sometimes when you try too hard to impress, to give too much, sometimes it goes against you.
“Arsenal play a different way to United however you look at it.

“You have got to consider those factors when you look at it.

“The lad is playing the same way he did at Arsenal even though United are playing a different way but I’m sure it will turn around for him.”

Sanchez will next be in action for United when they face Swansea on March 31.
